In Loving Memory of Carol Kubojiri

Remember Carol, with a smile, as she was someone who made every moment brighter for those around her. Although she was never officially a Lion, Carol truly lived the spirit of service. She frequently volunteered at our fundraisers by making her delicious Andagi and served as a driver for the Hawaii International Youth Campers, taking them to tour Hilo and providing transportation to KMC for their activities. Just one week before, Hilo Crescent City FunFest, the committee learned the restaurant could not obtain a Liquor License in time for the FunFest. Without any hesitation, Carol donated the alcoholic beverages. Her generosity played a big role in making our Funfest a success!

She is survived by her sister, Lion Sharon Sakoda of the Hilo Crescent City Lions Club. Carol was Lion Sharon’s #1 supporter whenever Lion Sharon needed help with the Lions project, Carol was there. Carol was dedicated to helping others and was known for her infectious laughter, regardless of the challenges she faced. As a single mother of four, she worked hard to provide a comfortable life for her family. She also loved to cook, bake, and sew. Every Christmas, she would bake a variety of cookies and sewed holiday items to deliver to

family, friends, and neighbors, to spread the holiday cheer!
